Missions Prayer News
(August-September 2017)

Lydia Kam (Macau)

Pray for the Lord to continue to heal the injured workers, so that they can have a speedy recovery; help the workers to love His word and seek to grow in Him. May He touch the lost and weak workers so they will turn around soon. We are thankful that on September the 3rd, two workers will be baptized. May the Lord strengthen their faith.

Jennifer Kwok (Macau)

In August, during furlough back in the States, I will be giving Sunday sermons and leading fellowships in supporting churches. May God bless me with the appropriate messages to share, so that not only will I have a gathering with the brothers and sisters of the supporting churches, but also make them aware of the needs in the mission fields, inspire them to pray for those needs, and through God’s message, encourage more participation in the missionary ministry. I’ll be back to the mission field on August 31st.

Miss Wen Yi Ho (Thailand)

Please pray for the Thailand Mother’s Day Gospel Sunday at church on August 20th. We will be inviting women from the community to come. Also continue to pray for our Saturday morning Children’s Ministry. This semester we have over 90 children, mostly from Buddhist families. Besides being in charge of the affairs of the center, I also have to teach elementary school English, 21 classes per week. May God be merciful and help me complete the remaining year of Weekend College courses.

Mrs. Ho Ma Siuwan Dorcas (Thailand)

In August there will be six members coming for the first time to visit the Education Center for two weeks. Our school will be conducting an English gospel camp for 120 middle school students from August 12 to 14; please remember us in your prayers. Pray for the building construction of the high school. We look to the Lord for the completion of this building in September. May the Lord provide us with the necessary funding and the faith to have confidence in Him. Please also pray for my physical health so I can better serve the Lord.

Jackson Saekow (Thailand) Please pray for the following:
  1. My lesson preparations for my students at San Quentin Prison to impact their life and others inside the state prison.
  2. My preaching and sharing at various churches for the next three months, asking the Lord to open the heart and mind of the listeners to the Great Commission of Jesus.
  3. Our Trinity Youth Center in Thailand to run effectively with more visitors from the nearby schools, and our regular visitation to the Central Juvenile Detention in Rayong.
  4. My family welfare and their sacrifices for the Thailand mission. Without their support, my work overseas would be very daunting and challenging in an ungodly environment.
Zien (Thailand)

Thank God that my family matters have been settled. My furlough starts in In August and September and I will and visit supporting churches in US. May God lead the way for a safe journey; bless me with good communication and sharing with the churches. Pray that the Lord will bring forth more churches and members to support our missionaries, and that we will join together in hands and hearts on this path to expand God’s ministry.

Bridget (East Asia)

Thanks be to God. In July, I was visiting my mother church in Canada, and also promoted the missionary ministry to other churches. My visa application to the United States for furlough in August and September went very smoothly. May God continue to bless my debriefing schedule to enable me to deliver the message of the need to start training more missionaries.

Desmond Ma (Belize)

Thanks be to God, a short term mission team of 16 people came to Cayo in July where they helped to organize a summer Bible Study class. The short term mission has been successfully completed; may God lead us in the follow up and training going forward. In August there will be a short term mission member, who has been here previously, coming to “shadow” me for the hands-on experience of the real life of a missionary. May God guide him and strengthen his will to serve in this ministry. Please continue to pray for our newly established church, House of Blessings. Pray that the Lord will guide brothers and sisters in their spiritual growth, so that more people will be brought to us.

Fernando Chiu (Venezuela)

Please continue to pray for my health, my service, and my learning in seminary. Also continue to pray that my children can learn and mature during these turbulent times in society. Pray for God’s grace to be upon the Venezuelans, so that they will soon have a safe home, and for more people to come to know HIM.

Derek & Sindy Leung (Ecuador)

We are thankful for our gradual adaptation to the new Ecuador mission field. May the Lord continue to help us to further build team work with other missionaries. We are also getting to know more about different brothers and sisters. May God guide us to establish a better relationship with them as we serve.

Venezuela Mission Field

The confrontation between the Venezuelan government and the opposition has become increasingly severe; prices are soaring, resulting in tremendous pressure on people's livelihood. The suspension of international airlines and the decline in oil prices are making it even worse for the country. The people can see no way out, and the inconvenience caused by daily anti-government demonstrations has become a part of everyday life. Pray for God's mercy and let the local Chinese or Western Christians be the light to bring the people back to the true God. Pray for God to exert His power and let this land be comforted with heavenly blessings.

Costa Rica Mission Field

Please continue to pray for the local CCM Spanish Classes, not only so that they can be helpful to new immigrants in their lives but also so they can be an effective conduit for the gospel. Let the children and their parents benefit from the gospel. The local CCM are planning community services to meet their needs; by doing so we can outreach to new friends.

Ecuador Mission Field

Please pray for the relocation of the church. The property has been sold by the owner, therefore the church has to find a new location and move within by the end of August. We are thankful for the Lord for providing an appropriate place; please pray for the remodeling and the move. May God bring members together to participate counting His blessings. In September, two physicians will be visiting Guayaquil, respectively, with some brothers and sisters to provide free consultations and other services. May God make use of their services and bless the Chinese community. May this be an opportunity to contact more compatriots to share the gospel.

Belize Mission Field

Beginning August 7th, a brother from North America will be here for 10 days to experience the life of a missionary. Pray that he will become closer to God during this time to receive His Will. Please also pray for the spiritual growth of local believers, may God keep their faith so they will give wonderful testimonies for Him.

CCM Foreign Mission Department(FMD)

In early August, a CCM board member will be joining the team to visit Belize to further understand the ministry in the fields and their needs. This will provide more specific information for the promotion and support of the mission fields. September 15 to 25, a short term mission team will be visiting Lima, the capitol of Peru. May God make use of each member in the team so they will be of one heart and mind as they humbly serve the local overseas Chinese; may God also prepare the recipients’ hearts so they can benefit from the gospel.

Clara Chan (Ecuador)

May God continue to safe-keep my family far away as they walk His path. Please remember the gospel dinner in the first part of August.

Brian & Gloria Cheng (Ecuador)

Not long ago, Gloria and our daughter were in an auto accident. Thank God for His safekeeping; they were not seriously hurt. Please pray for their recovery.

Leo & Florence Hung (Local Mission)

Pray that I can have a strong body and mind to work, and for wisdom to share the gospel with family.
