Dear Prayer partners:

Thank God for sending CCM short term mission team to visit us in early August. It was so encouraging and supporting! We had good time to serve our Lord together and may our Lord bless what they had done here. We are planning to leave Costa Rica in October, 1, 2010; therefore, we are working on how to hand over the ministry to local brothers and sisters. One important part is about the rehab course materials, we have to organize the materials for them to use in the future.

Appreciate your prayers for those relapsed rehab fellowship members and prayers works indeed. Thank God that when some relapsed, their family members learn how to rely on our Lord and cooperate with us; as the result, the whole family gone through spiritual breakthrough. On the other hand, when some other family members were unwilling to trust our Lord and did not work with us, the case became worse and hard to handle. Therefore, it is confirmed that the importance of our faith and family cooperation on the treatment. If gamblers and their families do not want to rely on our Lord or do not attend church meetings constantly, they will easily fall back to the cycle of gambling and suffer again.

While we were worrying about those relapsed members, God opened our eyes to see other members who have been improving. Praise the Lord that a few have been growing obviously. Some relapsed members repented and made decision to quit all gambling activities. Another brother has attended both fellowship and worship service regularly in the past few months, he is willing to do the devotional sharing, and he has rebuilt relationship with his family. Moreover, when CCM short term mission team came, this brother put on a pair of new shoes to show his respect to the team. When we remember how his careless look before, we just want to praise our Lord for He changed people’s life in His time.

One of our core group members was robbed and got shot, his leg was hurt by a bullet, and an operation was needed. Praise the Lord that this brother and his wife did not complaint but counted God’s blessing. In fact, many brothers and sisters have been robbed in the past months. So much worries as the result. Please remember the peace and order of Costa Rica.

Prayer requests:

1. On September 2, 2010, special meetings for gamblers’ families will be held at church, please pray that the meeting will be helpful and fill the needs of those who come.
2. We are leaving Costa Rica in October 1, 2010 and will go to new mission field Venezuela in January 2011 for developing Christian rehab ministry for Chinese gamblers and families, please pray for all the process and may our Lord open doors for us.
3. Our furlough will take place from Oct – Dec 2010, we will visit both Hong Kong and United States, pray for wisdom from above and strength to share the vision and ministry.
4. Please continue pray for Pastor Lin in Costa Rica, he still has a long way to go with his chemotherapy; please also remember Pastor Sit as he is taking up a lot of ministry nowadays.
5. Thank God for the health of our parents, may our Lord continue bless them.
