Dear Friends of CCM,

Peace in the Lord!

In 1 Cor. 9:23, Paul proclaimed, “I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.”In the past summer, this verse accurately reflects what CCM coworkers have been busy doing.

Chinese Today, produced by our literature department, has been fulfilling her role as a silent missionary and is widely recognized as an effective partner of the gospel. Demand for the simplified version continues to climb. Readers’ letters indicate they are willing to trust in Jesus or want to know more about God in response to every issue. Our English quarterly Challenger is a great tool for you to share the good news with your English speaking friends. I urge every reader to partner with us and bring the gospel back to the American people.

Short-term mission teams organized by our Foreign Missions Department have experienced God’s faithful protection. Myanmar, situated in Southeast Asia, experienced the biggest heat wave in the past 20 years; many people lost their lives, but the Lord was with our team. When they arrived in Myanmar, there were scattered showers every time they went out to do visitation and the sky remained cloudy until they finished. None of the team members felt any discomfort because of the weather. They led 11 people to Christ and they were encouraged by the faith of the local church. Belize, in Central America, experienced drought. The day the short-term mission team took off, a storm attacked Belize. By God’s grace the team arrived safely: the previous flight had to detour to Mexico. Because of the storm the drought problem was not as serious; they didn’t have to get water from the riverbank. The Lord then amazingly altered the storm’s path so that in the following days the sky was blue, enabling every member to bring blessing to each family with the message of comfort and peace to the hurting, the fearful and the hopeless kinsmen. They have brought ten people to the Lord.

The Home Missions Department has established our fifth Gospel Center in the Chintatown commercial district of Houston. The vision of this center is to serve the Chinese community in the market place by sharing the gospel with them. We welcome brothers and sisters to invite their colleagues and truth seeker friends to attend their evangelistic meetings every Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. On August 28 there was a vision sharing meeting led by CCM board chairman Dr. Abraham Law and board member Mr. Sau-Wing Lam. They also led some special workshops that were well received.

Saturday, September 11, from 7 to 9 p.m., we will colabor with CCHC Oakland Center, Oakland Salvation Army, Shower of Blessing, and Faith Valley Alliance Church to host the Artist Evangelistic Meeting at the Faith Valley Alliance Grace Chapel (East Bay Newark City). We have invited Mary Cheung, Pui-Chi Law, and Mrs. Chiao to have a very warm and peaceful 9/11. Please pray with us for a fruitful gospel mission.

May God help CCM to continue with its gospel vision. Pray that the Lord will raise up more brothers and sisters who love the Lord, care for the lost, and will join with us to become a strong army to lead the Chinese to Christ and to bear fruit a hundred fold. Glory to His name!

CCM staff wants to thank you and may the Lord who creates all things and upholds all things bless you with grace upon grace!

Your coworker in Christ,

Samuel Chiang (Rev.)
